CellyBlue (I do know this!) -- Know this -- YOU are one of the chief sources I look to. You bring out such depth of historical analysis in your thoughts, and you share profound reasoning with them.
Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs, now Jane Crow is quite popular among MAGA, and they are too eager to enact it, and to feature it prominently in their 900 page plan for American dystopia.
In my view, Greg Abbott, the cruel governor of Texas, has a version of Jim Crow. Abbott has defied Federal authority in erecting dangerous hazards on the Rio Grande that will hang up and drown an immigrant mother and her little child but that does NOTHING to keep out the dangerous drug-cartels or sex-traffickers that are the supposed targets of the trap.
We need Future President Kamala Harris. But Greg Abbott and the examples of Jane Crow you bring out show that election of a statesman like Kamala Harris is essential but not enough. After we thank our stars that Kamala Harris has won, we still have to correct injustice in many of our states.
We cannot have a United States where a good deal of our population lives under oppression.
Oh, that is right: That has been the case in our Country for hundreds of years.
But the great Moral Movement of my Time (I am 76) was the Civil Rights Movement, and one of the last representatives from that time was the deeply good man, a man of humane and just principles, who was so very lovable as a person: John Lewis, creating good trouble.
John Lewis is such a lovable man -- God I miss him. If I am not mistaken, as a boy in a rural area, the little boy, John Lewis, would practice preaching to the chickens. That is a humorous, boyish play, precociously reflecting deep inner goodness-- one would want to hug the little kid, that prepared him for the statesman of great moral principle that John Lewis became and embodied.

Choose! Women. Choose! Then VOTE.
No need to EVER have to justify or even TELL ANYONE who you chose to VOTE for.
Think of your daughters. Nieces. Grand daughters. Sisters, friends and family.
Think of the future.
Otherwise it’ll be simply fucking awful.
