A Saturday Restack -Ms. Jane Crow 2024!
Welcome white women to the full throttle of supremacy through systemic sexist laws.
Would you aid and protect a woman from a state with Ms. Jane Crow laws? Protection means safe harbor for women and their families from anti-women led states having Ms. Jane Crow-authoritarian, anti-freedom Kind Laws. Protection means aiding to end the re-victimization of victims by the criminal justice system through bullying tactics by threatening to jail, doctors, nurses, family, friends and yes even the Uber driver?
Ms. Jane who? (Crow). Black women have been dealing with Jane Crow Laws as long as there have been Jim Crow Laws. Welcome white women to the full throttle of supremacy through systemic sexist laws put in place to keep women in line.
Pauli Murray coined the term in the late 1940s describing Jane Crow as gender oppression combined with racial discrimination (black women getting it from both ends).
This word and the laws created aren’t new. Yet-Ms. Jane Crow laws in Ms. Jane Crow states such as Texas, Florida, Alabama, Goergia and other Republican led states go for women with eyes wide open. There is no back door conspiracy. There are no longer hidden agendas. The agendas are on-line, in emails, on youtube and XXX.
Please read the GOP-Trump Presidential Transition Project aka Project 2025 brought to you on behalf of the Heritage Foundation and the morons who ran the country into the ground from 2016-2020..
Project 2025 seeks to revive provisions of the Comstock Act of the 1870s that banned mail delivery of any "instrument, substance, drug, medicine, or thing" that could be used for an abortion. Project 2025 aims to enforce Comstock more rigorously to prohibit sending abortion pills and medical equipment used for abortions through the mail; the plan would allow criminal prosecutions for the senders and receivers of abortion pills. Meaning jail time for you ladies and your pharmacy reps. Woman will probably get more time then the daddy who continously raped his daughter from ages 4-16. I mean thats why they created Statutes of Limitations. Right.
Ms. Jane Crow. Is she here to stay?
For 50 years woman have had the autonomy to make decisions about their bodies and for more than 100 years the right to vote. If a precedent of women’s choice can be taken away, can her right to vote?
Hell Yes- This SCOTUS could care less about precedent.
Choose what you will do. Who you will help. I think we know which side the MAGAts are on. Which is your side. There is no straddling the fence. Not on this. There is no luke warm. You can’t run hot one day and then freezing cold the next. You must choose.
Cellyblue - I Do Know This!
CellyBlue (I do know this!) -- Know this -- YOU are one of the chief sources I look to. You bring out such depth of historical analysis in your thoughts, and you share profound reasoning with them.
Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs, now Jane Crow is quite popular among MAGA, and they are too eager to enact it, and to feature it prominently in their 900 page plan for American dystopia.
In my view, Greg Abbott, the cruel governor of Texas, has a version of Jim Crow. Abbott has defied Federal authority in erecting dangerous hazards on the Rio Grande that will hang up and drown an immigrant mother and her little child but that does NOTHING to keep out the dangerous drug-cartels or sex-traffickers that are the supposed targets of the trap.
We need Future President Kamala Harris. But Greg Abbott and the examples of Jane Crow you bring out show that election of a statesman like Kamala Harris is essential but not enough. After we thank our stars that Kamala Harris has won, we still have to correct injustice in many of our states.
We cannot have a United States where a good deal of our population lives under oppression.
Oh, that is right: That has been the case in our Country for hundreds of years.
But the great Moral Movement of my Time (I am 76) was the Civil Rights Movement, and one of the last representatives from that time was the deeply good man, a man of humane and just principles, who was so very lovable as a person: John Lewis, creating good trouble.
John Lewis is such a lovable man -- God I miss him. If I am not mistaken, as a boy in a rural area, the little boy, John Lewis, would practice preaching to the chickens. That is a humorous, boyish play, precociously reflecting deep inner goodness-- one would want to hug the little kid, that prepared him for the statesman of great moral principle that John Lewis became and embodied.
Choose! Women. Choose! Then VOTE.
No need to EVER have to justify or even TELL ANYONE who you chose to VOTE for.
Think of your daughters. Nieces. Grand daughters. Sisters, friends and family.
Think of the future.
Otherwise it’ll be simply fucking awful.
