Byron Donalds - Convicted Felon Trump Go-To Guy Trying To Gaslight The Brothers.

In February of 2024, I authored an article “Black people aren’t running around slanging chains, pimping hos, and Voting for Trump”. Let me expound a little more on this subject. Let me be a little clearer, because some folks are trying to gaslight us and alter the reality of history. Let us be factual about Jim Crow. As God is my witness (Your God, My God, Any God) Black men do not see Jim Crow through rose color glasses. Black women do not see Jim Crow through the eyes of the “Donna Reed Show.” Let’s not get it Twisted. We see it for what it is.

What Bryon Donald said:

“During Jim Crow, the Black family was together,” he said. “During Jim Crow, more Black people were not just conservative — Black people have always been conservative-minded — but more Black people voted conservatively. And then H.E.W., Lyndon Johnson — you go down that road, and now we are where we are.”

Let’s get educated on real facts that while Donalds has the luxury of sipping his Cognac and smoking his Cigars in 2024. During Jim crow he was not afforded that luxury. Jim Crow during Donald’s grandfather and great grandfather days was alive and thriving. Jim Crow laws were state and local laws introduced in the Southern United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that enforced racial segregation. Jim Crow laws remained in force until the Civil Rights act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1964. These formal and informal segregation policies were present in other areas of the United States as well not just the south even as several states outside the South had banned discrimination in public accommodations and voting. Jim Crow police could be found everywhere. There was no freedom to congregate, to vote, to walk down the street taking a leisurely stroll while smoking a cigar for a black man.

Mr. Donalds left out the part where after Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the segregationist Southern Democrats left the democratic party and became republicans, they longer supported the democratic party. Which also caused Black voters, once a Republican bloc of voters, to then become dependable Democrats. There was a shift in the parties and a shift in the atmosphere. In 1948 the Republican party received 35% of the black vote, by 1964 0% of blacks voted for the Republican party. Can anyone guess what happened in 1964? There was a shift in the atmosphere. With a shift of the republicans and their Goldwater political style. In 1968, 3% of blacks were voting for Republicans and by 2008 that number was at 1%.

Mr. Donald said that he did not say black people were better off, he said the black family was together. “I never said that… What I said was that you had more Black families under Jim Crow. And it was the Democrat policies or under H.E.W., under the welfare state, that did help to destroy the Black family.

First - The United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (also known as HEW) was a cabinet-level department of the United States government from 1953 until 1979. This department created under the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower was administered by the United States Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare. To further educate Mr. Donalds about its history, Oveta Culp Hobby was the first secretary of the United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, she was also the first commanding officer of the Women's Army Corps.

Patricia Roberts Harris served as the last United States Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare and the first United States Secretary of Health and Human Services in the administration of President Jimmy Carter. She was the first African American woman to serve as a United States Ambassador, representing the U.S. in Luxembourg under President Lyndon B. Johnson, and the first to enter the line of succession to the Presidency. In 1979 under President Jimmy Carter, a separate Department of Education (ED) was created from this department, and H.E.W was renamed as the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Second - H.E.W ran a Community Public Health Program, which was famous for its grants to cities like Chicago for rat control. It ran a Solid Waste program focused on municipal waste issues, like how to build sanitary landfills rather than dumps. It also had a radiation program under which it wrote standards on things like microwave ovens. So, Mr. Donalds, if you like large Ass rats, Garbage filled dumps and radiation streaming out all over the place. Then hell no you didn’t want H.E.W.

As for Welfare as the destruction of the black family. Sorry Mr. Donalds, nothing but nothing can destroy the black family.

There may have been someone who wanted to destroy the black family. But it wasn’t welfare.

Facts:

The program in which Mr. Donalds calls welfare was created under the name Aid to Dependent Children (ADC) by the Social Security Act of 1935 as part of the New Deal. It was created as a means tested entitlement which subsidized the income of families where fathers were "deceased, absent, or unable to work".  It provided a direct payment of $18 per month for one child, and $12 for a second child. In 1994, the average payment was $420/month. The Civil Rights Movement and the efforts of the National Welfare Rights Organization in the 1960s expanded the scope of welfare entitlements to include black women.

In 1996, President Bill Clinton passes the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act, which drastically restructured the program. Among other changes, a lifetime limit of five years was imposed on the receipt of benefits; the newly limited nature of the replacement program was reinforced by calling AFDC's successor Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

Yes, Mr. Donald before that Black women did not benefit from this luxury, but it was there. Black Women benefited from Jim Crow. Scrubbing toilets for Ms. Daisy and Ms. Lees. Wiping the asses of Mrs. Jonston and Mrs. DeSantis. The caseloads of Aid to Families with Dependent Children rose from 1965-1970. You may ask why from 1965-1970. There was the time of the Vietnam War, The ERA, and the Civil Rights Movement when we had boycotts and girlcotts and the assassination of Martin and both Kennedy brothers. Johnson was trying to get things done, while Nixon was attempting to become president by stringing the war along. Black Garbage men in Memphis fighting for a fair wage. Black Children in Birmingham wanted a fair education.

Mr. Donalds as with all propagandists uses the term Welfare State like it was some phenomenon created for the benefit of Black people. Believing the myth of republican propaganda of the Black Willie Horton laying around selling dope and raping white women, and the black Welfare Queen buying furs and living off food stamps. Who you been hanging around Mr. Donalds, you still must be careful driving through those Florida Sundown Towns at night, you still black in the eyes of the Klan, the one percenter and your Tea Party friends.

Mr. Donalds wants to be nostalgic for the preservation of the black family. And in the same sentence use Jim Crow as an example. All the while the party he is hanging with is doing everything to keep that family apart. Why use Jim Crow as an example at all. Why not some other time? Like 1978 the year you were born - or 1989, the year your convicted felon friend trump said lynch five black and brown innocent brothers. It’s not the democrats or independents that has a preschool to prison pipeline in Alabama. Last time I checked that Governor, the Lt. Gov., the SOT, AG, Treasurer, and everyone in power was a republican. It’s not the democrats who want everyone to believe that slavery was a blessing in disguise for those heathen slaves who go OJT as they were being whipped. It’s the state of Florida Mr. Donalds resides in.

Facts-

Your party if anything would say that you are destroying the Black Family. You married outside of your race. Why didn’t you marry a black woman. Oh, that’s nobody’s business you say! You have the right as an American to marry whom you choose you say! Are you sure? And with your party in power how long will that last? I mean Loving v. Virginia is precedent. But is it Super Precedent? I mean it’s only been in the books 52 years. Yet black families have been around longer. Will you be allowed to stay married, or will you be imprisoned for breaking the law? A $10,000 fine and separation from those you love. Aw History. Those who forget are doomed to repeat. Yet when we have Step and Fetch brothers trying to play the game it is even worse.

Mr. Donald, your party has been trying to destroy the black family for years. It wasn’t H.E.W., it wasn’t Johnson, it wasn’t Welfare. It has been through intimidation, prison, and lynchings.

Now they’re no longer white hoods, they’re black robes. They have tried. We are here so it will never happen. They will continue to try. We will still stand strong.
