The study initially involved 600 Black sharecroppers living in Alabama. Of the men, 399 (Controlled group)had syphilis and 201(the other group) who did not.Participants’ informed consent was not collected. Well that blows it! How can you consent to a secret? The men were told by the study researchers that they were being treated for “bad blood”. Bad Blood terms used in a not so secret study to hide what is really wrong with you.
